We are thrilled to announce the success of our School Robotics team at the recent RoboCup Junior Australia National Championships. Competing against some of the best young minds in the country, our students have once again demonstrated their passion for engineering, creativity and teamwork.
This year, the team competed in the Rescue Line and OnStage Challenges, where they showcased their robot’s unique design, mechanical innovation, and performance. One of the key aspects of RoboCup Junior is its focus on learning and collaboration, which our students embraced fully. They weren’t just building robots—they were developing real-world skills like problem-solving, programming and teamwork, all while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within the team.
Their robots performed well in the competition and demonstrated innovative design elements, including enhanced stability and creative costuming, which set them apart. Teachers and peers from other schools consistently praised the professionalism and creativity of our students, which speaks volumes about their dedication to mastering each aspect of the competition. All of our teams placed in the top quarter of their division.
Beyond the technical accomplishments, the team exemplified the true spirit of RoboCup Junior, which emphasises cooperation, learning from others, and helping to inspire the next generation of innovators. Their willingness to share insights and work collaboratively with other teams at the event showed that success in this arena is not just about winning trophies but about fostering a community of learners who support one another.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and parents who supported our students throughout the preparation for this event. Your encouragement, patience, and belief in their abilities were essential to their success. A special thank you goes to Mr Bradley, who drove an incredible 20 hours to Brisbane and back, ensuring all of our equipment made it to the competition and home again. Your contribution made it possible for our team to compete at their best.
We couldn’t be prouder of our students and are deeply grateful to the entire community for helping them achieve this success. We look forward to seeing where their journey in robotics takes them next!
