Junior School delivered an incredible gift to audiences at their recent production of Peter Pan Jr. The talent, enthusiasm and contagious joy of the cast reflected their dedication and pursuit of excellence. Peter Pan Jr. awoke our imagination and took us on a journey to Neverland, calling us to rekindle the joy of childhood wonder in our hearts.
Peter Pan Jr. is a delightful adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s original tale, specially crafted for young performers. The prelude to the play featured performances by the wonderful Concert Band, Junior, Senior and Trio Dance Troupes and the Choir.
The audience were then led on an exciting adventure with the Darling children – Wendy, John and Michael as they journeyed to the magical world of Neverland with the eternally young Peter Pan. The colourful cast included Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, Tigerlily, the Brave Girls and the notorious Captain Hook with his band of pirates.
The musical, with its many memorable songs including ‘I’m Flying’, ‘I Won’t Grow Up’ and ‘Neverland’, explores the important themes of friendship, supporting one another, and bravely facing the challenges of growing up.
Peter Pan reminds us of the power of believing steadfastly in ourselves and refusing to give in to our fears:
‘The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.’ (Peter Pan)
Congratulations to the amazing cast and musicians for the energy, commitment and joy you brought to each performance and the dedicated staff, including Mrs McDonell (Director), Mrs Finch (Music Director), Miss Cooper (Choreographer), and Mrs Pate and Mrs Gatenby (Musical Administration). Special thanks also to Mr Roberts of LKR Productions (Sound and Lighting Designer), The Pavilion staff (Front of House) and our wonderful parents, families, friends and carers for your valuable assistance with props, costumes and set design.
